Parks

The City of Watonga’s Parks Department maintains 183 acres of land dedicated to a broad variety of recreation opportunities for Watonga’s 3,000 residents, as well as patrons from surrounding communities. Facilities include four softball fields, four baseball fields, six soccer fields, one skate park and a splash pad. The department also maintains Watonga’s nine-hole municipal golf course on the city’s northwest corner.

The department employs three full-time staff members and five seasonal workers who help with mowing responsibilities at 11 city parks. During the cold season, the department performs off-season tasks such as irrigation system repairs and mowing equipment maintenance.
